چکیده
AIM: To investigate the effect of bicanalicular silicone tube intubation (BSTI) in treatment functional epiphora after endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (En-DCR). METHODS: Clinical data 84 patients (95 eyes) with En-DCR were retrospectively analyzed. Functional was confirmed as persistent or recurrent by fluorescein dye disappearance test (FDDT), lacrimal irrigation test, well examination. Secondary BSTIs recommended for epiphora. These tubes removed 1mo surgery. success and associated complications assessed 2y follow-up. RESULTS: Seven (9 refused intervention, 5 (6 did not complete postoperative follow-up, 1 patient (1 eye) developed prolapse within Seventy-one (79 included at last. ratios six months, one year, two years post-operation 94.9% (75/79), 92.4% (73/79), 91.1% (72/79), respectively. Three eyes presented punctal slitting (2 without epiphora), eye proximal canaliculus slitting, stenosis 4 still present detectable abnormal last CONCLUSION: is an effective procedure low recurrence probability En-DCR. Punctal injury are main tube-associated secondary intubation.

Management of functional epiphora in patients with an anatomically patent dacryocystorhinostomy.
IMPORTANCE Approximately 5% to 10% of patients continue to experience persistent epiphora following an anatomically successful dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) for nasolacrimal duct obstruction or stenosis. OBJECTIVE To investigate the management and success rate of so-called "functional failure" of DCR for nasolacrimal duct obstruction by experienced lacrimal surgeons. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PART...
متن کاملCase Reports of Lacrimal Sac Tumors Discovered in Patients with Persistent Epiphora Following Dacryocystorhinostomy
Dear Editor, Recently, we experienced two cases of lacrimal sac tumors discovered in patients who presented with persistent epiphora after receiving dacryocystorhynostomy (DCR). A 75-year-old female visited the clinic complaining persistent epiphora in the right eye for 5 years. The patient was diagnosed with nasolacrimal duct obstruction in the right eye and received a DCR twice 2 years ago at...

Introduction: Rhinosinus polyposis is associated with voice quality reduction. There has been little evidence about the efficacy of rhinosinus polyps surgery on patients' voice quality so far. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the nasality and acoustic voice changes after rhinosinus polyposis surgery. Materials and Methods: The population in this study compo...
متن کاملMycobacterium chelonae dacryocystitis after endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy
Mycobacterium chelonae is a rapidly growing nontuberculous Mycobacterium and an uncommon cause of aggressive, treatment-resistant ocular and periocular infection. This is the first known case report of a woman who developed unilateral M. chelonae dacryocystitis after undergoing endoscopic sinus surgery and right endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) with Crawford stent placement. We describe o...
